Lahore..

Lahore, the city, is known for its historical stories, food and fashion. I've never been a fan of the city but the trip I took recently changed my views about the place. I kind of fell in love with Lahore. Despite the fact that you feel the most patriotic at Wagah Border, the feeling of being Pakistani is at its peak when they raise that green and white flag, the 'jazba' and the 'junoon' is at its highest at Wagah Border.

The other most important place to visit in Lahore is the food street, behind the famous and the beautiful Badshahi Mosque. All the restaurants, in history, were a part of Heera Mandi,  The women and hijras used to offer traditional and classical dances and was originally the center of the city's tawaif culture in the Mughal era, however, the restaurants have now changed the place and is called the food street now. Most of the restaurants' interiors have not been mordernized, yet have been placed in such a way that when you enter you feel you've gone back in time and can actually feel how it would've been.

Besides the history, the food is beyond amazing. The blend of desi and modern food makes you want to eat there every time you visit. If you are from Karachi and you love eating by the sea (read: Do Darya), you'll love eating by a view to die for:

Lahore, as rightfully said, holds such rich history that you can't just help fall in love with the city.

As irrelevant as it may be; the view from my hotel room was to die for too;

The Punjabis have put it so accurately, "jinnay Lahore ni vekheya, o jammiye nai."
(One who has not seen Lahore, has not been born).

Falling in love..

Do not fall in love with people who are good with words, they'll only love you more in words.
Fall in love with people who doesn't hesitate to tell you how much they love you.

Do not fall in love with people who's 'I love you' mean 'I love your body'. Fall in love with people who's 'I love you' means 'I love your soul'

Do not fall in love with people who hugs so tight that it cracks your ribs. Fall in love with people who hugs you in a way that you want to die in their arms.

Do not fall in love with people who judge you by what car you drive, or how much money you have in your bank account. Fall in love with people who won't mind walking a mile with you sweating in the sun.

Do not fall in love with the people who loves the makeup on your face and your strawberry flavoured lip gloss. Fall in love with the people who thinks you looks gorgeous with hair in a messy bun and your eyes all puffy.

Do not fall in love with the people who kiss you so hard that your lip bleeds. Fall in love with the people who when kisses you, heals all your bleeding wounds.

Do not fall in love with the people who tried to own you like you're their property. Fall in love with the people who let you be free like you're only destined to touch the sky.

Mauritius, baby.

"Mauritius has been and still going on as an amazing experience. What can be greater than working in a country where everything is like that of windows wallpapers we used to keep back in the days.

Going out to people and talking to them, carrying out awareness campaigns on how much recycling is important, going home to home to create an impact, talking to children, an exhibition of things made out of plastic and singing the national anthem in front of the whole crowd of Mauritius are a few things that I've experienced here.

Living with people from all over the world has helped me be a better Pakistani and a much much better Muslim, Alhamdulillah.

Going to the beaches and laying there on the white sand, the breeze be so chilly, what more could you ask for from life? AIESEC has given me the opportunity to work abroad with some of the most amazing people in one of the most beautiful counties of the world."

Someone, Somewhere..

Someone, somewhere, has lost the only  person they loved.
Someone, somewhere, is holding onto ruined memories.
Someone, somewhere, is trying not to cry while they talk.
Someone, somewhere, is doing everything to prevent a heartbreak.
Someone, somewhere, is laying on the bed thinking how unimportant they are to someone.
Someone, somewhere, is being rejected despite their heart filled with love.
Someone, somewhere, a mind is occupied thinking of answers.
Someone, somewhere, is shedding tears for the mistake their heart made.
Someone, somewhere, is silent about what they really want.
Someone, somewhere, is writing their suicide note.
Someone, somewhere, is picking up the pieces of their broken world.
Someone, somewhere, is still hoping for a better tomorrow.
Someone, somewhere, is waiting for the sun to shine brighter.
Someone, somewhere, wakes up everyday expecting the world to be less cruel.
Someone, somewhere, is glad that they exist.
Someone, somewhere, is falling in love despite their heart being broken a dozen times.
Someone. Somewhere.

September..

September. The month holds great value in my life. It's the month I was born in. The date was 14th. Every year I wait for the day like crazy little maniac, planning that I'll conquer the world on my birthday. But birthdays go. And years go. And nothing changes. I always have a birthday wish for every year. This year, I'm not sure what to ask for. I think I have found the most amazing people who I call my friends, I believe I have made best friends with my Dad. September 14th doesn't excite me anymore. It's like any other day in my life. But for the record, I'm actually waiting for tomorrow.

I'll finally be 23. A grown up. An adult. A very responsible individual. As much as I'm excited to be all this, I sure as hell am freaked out. :)

I'll live..♥

I'll live. No matter how much my breath hurts, I'll live. No matter how many fake smiles I have to wear, I'll live. Even if my soul is dead, I'll live. No matter how many explanations I have to give, I'll live. Even if my heart weakens, I'll live. Even if my mind wanders, I'll live. Even when my eyes burn, I'll live. No matter now much my hand longs for yours, I'll live. No matter how bad the songs sound, I'll live. Even if my feet refuses to move ahead, I'll live. Even when the wind that touch your skins, touches mine, I'll live. Even if the world falls apart, I'll live. Even if I die with each breath, I'll live.

A void that a stranger left..

He didn’t know me. I didn’t know him. We were both merely strangers to each other. He just used to flash me a big smile the moment our eyes used to meet for a fraction of second. With a smile so bright and the eyes that sparkled, I never thought of not smiling back to him. This was my entire relationship with him; smiling at each other every single day.

He was a BBA student in my university. A person with a personality so charming and a mind of a genius, always made me wonder why I never got a chance to talk to him despite working for the same society, same department. He would only smile, never waved, and never said a word. I now feel this was probably the beauty of it. His silence spoke so much to me that we never had the urge to talk.

Suddenly, he disappeared.  I didn’t see him for 2 days and I had been worrying at the back of mind but always thought he’d be busy studying as our finals were approaching. I have this habit of not checking my official email where the students are informed about everything related to out university only by the management, I checked my email this other day in the class and my mind was as blank as anything when I read a condolence message in my inbox saying Osama Sabir passed away 2 days back in a car accident. I couldn’t react instantly. I didn’t knew what to say or think. I stared at my phone reading the email again and again trying for it to make some sense. It didn’t.

His only words that are still fresh in my mind are, when we had our society meeting where I work, he was also a part of that society, the team leader discussed a few ideas where we both, me and Osama, were disagreeing to her continuously, he smiled at me and said, ‘Worry not, they will grow up some day. IoBM will grow up one day.’ And I couldn’t help but laugh.

This was what this human being was. He lived as if he ruled the world until death took over.

My eyes still look for him every morning at the spot where he used to stand with his friends and smile at me. And it breaks my heart to realize I will never see him there again.

R.I.P, kiddo. I hope you realize university life will never ever be same without you. I know you’re looking down at us, smiling. Be at peace, you. :)
