Lahore, the city, is known for its historical stories, food and fashion. I've never been a fan of the city but the trip I took recently changed my views about the place. I kind of fell in love with Lahore. Despite the fact that you feel the most patriotic at Wagah Border, the feeling of being Pakistani is at its peak when they raise that green and white flag, the 'jazba' and the 'junoon' is at its highest at Wagah Border.
The other most important place to visit in Lahore is the food street, behind the famous and the beautiful Badshahi Mosque. All the restaurants, in history, were a part of Heera Mandi, The women and hijras used to offer traditional and classical dances and was originally the center of the city's tawaif culture in the Mughal era, however, the restaurants have now changed the place and is called the food street now. Most of the restaurants' interiors have not been mordernized, yet have been placed in such a way that when you enter you feel you've gone back in time and can actually feel how it would've been.
Besides the history, the food is beyond amazing. The blend of desi and modern food makes you want to eat there every time you visit. If you are from Karachi and you love eating by the sea (read: Do Darya), you'll love eating by a view to die for:
Lahore, as rightfully said, holds such rich history that you can't just help fall in love with the city.
As irrelevant as it may be; the view from my hotel room was to die for too;
The Punjabis have put it so accurately, "jinnay Lahore ni vekheya, o jammiye nai."
(One who has not seen Lahore, has not been born).
